I just found out that Mt. Waterman has been renovated and fixed. UP. They will be opening next week. How do you think it will be. I want to try it but it is new, I dont want to be the only one. I wonder how it will be. It is also near Los Angeles around 30 minutes away.|||It will look pretty much like the OLD Waterman: 60% advanced terrain, 20% intermediate, 20% advanced. Considering that intermediate skiiers are the ones that will pay the bills, I just don't see how they can survive. They don't have snowmaking, so they will only be able to open in good years. When it DOES snow, the roads are closed for days. Physically, it looks the same as the old Waterman. I wouldn't say it was "fixed up"; rather, it was restored to operating condition. Considering it's past history, I'd say it's doomed to repeat it.
However, if you're an advanced skier who likes to shred, then by all means, do Waterman before it closes again. They say it's a "locals paradise"... that's because only hard-core locals will go there.|||I'm scratching my palms in feverish anticipation of Lady Watermans opening.
