Best fountain pen for a beginner?
Should I buy a Waterman Expert or a Lamy Safari for my first fountain pen?|||If you've never had a fountain pen you should start with a cheaper model to get the feel for it. Fountain pen's do not write like ball point pens. Press to hard and you can ruin your point and tear through your paper. I recomend that you start out with a cheap Parker pen. Once you get the hang of it and determine if you like fountain pens then you can move on to the more expensive ones. I have Waterman and love it but I also have many dipping pens, and cheapers fountains, too. Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it isn't a good pen. Some people prefer the cheaper brands.|||No problem enjoy using your new pen.

Did anyone see those 3 bimbo's from the Sheila's wheels ad singing on this morning? What a load of c**p.
Why cant singers be more origional instead of trying to make a fast buck from making c**p songs, Pete Waterman is behind this, say no more|||I've got a holiday home (static caravan) on a large site in western-super-mare and a few weeks ago the Sheila's wheels girls were the evenings entertainment and sang a few songs (including the signature tune about 10 times!), afterwards they did autographs - there was hundreds of people queueing up to meet them - it was chaos, you'd have thought Justin Timberlake or someone had arrived!!!!|||Totally garbage.|||lol. yes it is rubbish|||yep, i just saw them! how pants was the song? and i thought the advert was annoying!!|||sexist too.|||i agree with Debbie J.

I've heard it will either be James Thompson or Ron Waterman.|||It looks like the negotiations with Waterman didnt go well, so its James Thomson for now.|||they will match him up w/ someone he can beat. England won the world cup in 1966, but is it true the miners of West Auckland also won it so we have won it 2?
Denis Waterman made a film about the miners of West Auckland winning the world cup is it based on a fact|||yes it is true they beat switzerland and italy in around 1909 to 1911 to win the very first world cup|||no that is not true|||i think it was just the trophy .and not the title.|||this is indeed a fact

Which is the best fountain pen?
A fine point nib, with which one can write as well as sketch/draw. One that will last and doesn't clog. Also, which is a good ink, one that doesn't clog up the nib too soon?
I've looked at some from Waterman, Sheaffer etc but would like some opinions.|||I always liked osmiroid not so expensive that you worry about losing it nice size and shape nice set of interchangeable nibs|||Hello marooon I will try and help you with your call waterman and sheaffer are pretty good pens however the company parker pens are simply exquisite they don't make nasty splodges on the paper or leak. They have a great still with a fine nib at the end. However these parker pens can be quite expensive
I hope this helped|||Parker, Waterman, Mont Blanc, Pelican|||I always like the old brands which have passed the test of time. For me, I prefer Waterman.

My fountain pen is not running properly.?
I have flushed it out with water a lot and not as much ink is coming out of it as there used to be and I can hear the contact with the paper as I write. It is a Waterman and cost about 拢30 6 years ago.|||Leave it soaking in cold water overnight.
Then use a paper towel the next morning to COMPLETELY dry it out.
If it's still not working, drop an email to Waterman, explaining.
They're very good and may well offer a replacement or to service it for you.
Their email contacts are available in the link below - just select your country.

http://www.Business-support.co.uk|||buy new one is better|||Sounds like you still have water in it. When you rinse it out, make sure you give it a good flick to remove the excess water - mind you don't strike the nib on anything as you do this and mind where the inky water might splash - might be best to shake it outside.
Replace the ink cartridge and give it a gentle squeeze to establish the ink flow. I used to pulse the nib firmly on the paper to open the inkway - it is all about capillary action if you do science stuff. Another thing I did was to stroke down the join in the nib with a wet finger to get the ink flowing. Then write normally and you should slowly get rid of the last water and be back in ink heaven again.

How to carve on a longboard?
Finally got the Arbor Waterman long-board!! (Thanks Santa, again :D)
Now the snow is gone, I can practice, but I don't know how to carve. I guess it's meant to go faster, right? When I do it, I only go slower...|||Carving is not meant to go faster. Why did Simon Cowel stop Pop Idol and change to X Factor when in every other country it stayed as Idol?
Pop Idol with Dr Fox, Nicky Chapman and Pete Waterman was great. The format was then transferred in the same format worldwide. What happened to make it stop and change to X Factor Was it money or personality based.?|||it was called pop idol cos pete waterman was the record contractor for the winner, then simon joined as the record producer and pete withdrew so after a long legal battle by pete for copy rights the name was changed to x-factor|||I personally think they tried something new with the X-Factor and they found it had a lot wider appeal to potential entrants and audiences, due to the fact it didn't say 'Pop' in the title. It opened the door for rockier, more RnB and 'cooler' contestants.
In America, American Idol is such a well loved brand that simon has said he would not want to risk messing with that and doesn't think it's necessary. Plus I don't think they have ever had that problem of only attracting will young's, michelle mcmanuss's and whoever else as it's called American Idol and doesn't put people off who don't consider themselves 'pop'.|||Well this is wot i gt from star stories so prob complete garbage but mayb right... sos

How can the Beatles be described as 'Cheesy'?
My step sisters teenage daughter recently described The Beatles as 'cheesy'.
Either tasts have changed or I have misunderstood the meanding of the word.
I alwals undertood it to mean elements of popular culture that are naff. Examples are The Eurovision Song Contest, the music of Stock, Atkin and Waterman and the 'Shake and Vac' advert.

Please read my student council speech and tell me what you think..Any suggestions will help?
Good afternoon, Mr. Waterman, Mrs. Pine, Teachers, Staff, Parents, Guests, and fellow students. My name is ______ and I am running for president.
Dedicated. Responsible. And Enthusiastic. These are three words that describe me, and three reasons why you should vote for me. I cannot promise that if I am elected we will be allowed to chew gum or have no homework. But I can listen to what you, the students have to say, and pass it on to the faculty. I will try my best to meet any student requests. If that isn鈥檛 good enough, then I am not the person to elect. The only promise I can make is that I will try my hardest to help you, the students, have a memorable school year. Some ideas I have to improve the school are: more fundraisers, better food in the snack shack, and more electives. I believe that I am qualified to represent our school because I get good grades, served on student council last year as Spirit commissioner, am involved in many school activities such as t|||It sounds like you actually know what the job is, and actually want it. Perhaps as simply as Good afternoon students and staff. The students likely should be mentioned first because they are the ones who will be doing the major part of the voting. Don't say these are words that describe me, that makes it an afterthought, try I am a responsible, dedicated and enthusiastic student. I cannot promise my election will bring the right to students to chew gum, nor am I certain it would end homework...
It sounds like you have a lot of good things to say, but the less time you take to say it, the more likely they will remember what you have said.|||Sounds like a very good speech, well-written and all the proper acknowledgments. Good luck|||it sounds too cookie cutter. Add some sarcastic remarks in it so that people will really listen. If you have it like that people will be bored out of their minds...|||i think the speech is good.
A few suggestions:
Don't use "try my hardest to help you"
try: "my best to help you"
If you want to try a very different approach (see below), rather than listing what you've done at school and make it part of the narrative of your story. Something that speaks about your connection to the school and people, rather saying "These are my qualifications". I believe this style sounds more like a leader and less like ambition. Good luck
"Since I came to SCHOOLNAME, i've competed in spelling bees and school plays and had a great time. I've worked as a library helper, served on school council. I've always loved my school and my friends throughout the school. So it shouldn't be a surprise that i would want to continue to work for my friends and school to make this another great year."
Your original speech is fine. My comments are more about how to "sell" than about the message to the voters.|||If that isn鈥檛 good enough, then I am not the person to elect. Drop this line if you want to be elected.
I believe that I am qualified to represent our school because I get good grades. If your running for office they know you get good grades take this out. Sounds like your bragging, no offense.
The rest sounds good. I hope you get elected!|||It sounds ok, i think you need to have more emphasis on your name, you want people to remember instantly who they are. My bf suggested if you look really hot, the guys will instantly remember who you are... I'm suggesting tossing out candy to everyone, but you gotta get your name into their head or else they will just go with whoever's name sounds the best. D*mbass high schoolers that they are.|||I'll vote for you! Your good at making speeches
Is it better to lay a ballpoint pen flat or upright when not using it?
Does gravity help the pen's ink stay at the tip? I want to get the most ink for my money. I got a Waterman pen set for Christmas and the refills cost $6.00.|||My experience is if you stand it with the tip down the ink leaks. If you stand it upside down the end of the pen dries out and won't write as well. I would go with the on it's side. What's the worse thing that could happen? I can't think of a thing. :)

There are some characters I don't recall reading about or seeing in the movie "Into The Wild" Help me?
I need to make a scrapbook/journal as if we were alex supertramp.
Its asking us to refer to certain characters and explain "alex's" view on them and how they compare to other people. But it has two that i don't remember,
-Everette Ruess
and
-John Waterman
I returned my book already and the movie didn't say anything about them.
Can you please explain to me who they were in the story??|||Do you remember that chapter talking about Chris in the dessert and the Author talking about a boy who did a similar thing? That was Everette Ruess.
He disappeared on a similar adventure in the same place Chris traveled. You could just google him, he is fairly well known.
John Waterman was another guy Krauker compared to Chris. Basically a guy who I think was the first to climb some mountain in America and was celebrated for it. Then he began doing some batshit crazy stuff like wearing a cape. He checked himself into a psych ward for a small amount of time before taking off again into the wilderness never to be seen again.
Another person who had a fair bit of information on him on the net.

This is Cowells last X-Factor series so some rumours say, who would you replace him with?
My vote would go to Pete Waterman IF they decide to continue that is.|||I loved Pete too , what about Cary and David Grant from Fame academy they would be good !!|||Thx ally xx
|||Pete Waterman would be cool Ally but I agree with Chris that there should only be 3 judges as it would solve a lot of problems. Whoever replaces Simon should be fair and impartial not tactical like Louis and Simon are. Unless there is a big change in the voting system though I would go as far to say it should be scrapped altogether as this year is a total farce.|||I think they should get rid of Louis (God he gets on my nerves!!) stick Simon in the middle then they can't argue about where they are sitting and then they can get back to the actual reason for being there.. finding talent and actually make a decision based on who was the better performer not let stupid children at home decide who wins.|||X-factor wouldn't be the same without Simon Cowell. Besides, X-factor has had it's day, and I think it's time they pulled the plug on the whole show because the so called talent on X-factor is, for the most part, pretty talentless.|||If Simon went so would I to be honest he makes the show for me and having to put up with that Louis walsh and Cheryl no way

Does anybody know why, on Little Britain, Dennis Waterman so small, I dont get it!!?
Hmm interesting. I have wondered that, cant wait to see some of the answers on here, surely someone knows.|||It is because he thinks of himself that way. You can also notice that his size varies (in comparison to other objects).
Or maybe it is just because he wants to write and sing all the theme tunes ;-)|||It's a joke.|||It was just a random suggestion David Walliams made once when they were writting sketches and they both thought it would be funny because it is random. There's no real reason behind it other than that.|||I don't think there is any real reason for it, I think they just wanted to do something with Dennis Waterman and it evolved from there. Wikipedia says the following "He has been caricatured by David Walliams in the radio and TV comedy series Little Britain, in sketches where he visits his agent (played by Matt Lucas) looking for parts. Most of the jokes in these sketches are about Waterman being a midget, but the real Dennis Waterman is in fact 5'9. The caricature is offered but always declines respectable parts because he is not allowed to star in, or "write da feem toon, sing da feem toon" of, the particular production. In November 2006, Waterman made a guest appearance in a Little Britain stage show, alongside the comedy character version of himself"

I had my second baby 4 months ago, i have a wedding to go to in july and i cant shift my weight, if the likes of hannah waterman can do it , why cant i?|||Im not sure if this will help but maybe you should try purchase the biggest loser game or jillian micheals DVD i have been eating the same food as usual and just by using these two items have lost 21lbs in 2 weeks. if i can work for me it can work for anyone|||well, first off, a model or actress loses a large amount of weight it is because she has 8 hours a day to work out. You dont have that time, so eat a few small meals a day, and swim, bike or run, all of which are good cardio. Stretch out your muscles and do some resistive training (lifting weights)|||If you are serious about healthy eating, fat loss, and body tone up, I have a program (FIT80X) that will give you the body of a fitness model. Anyone remember The Hitman and Her? There was Pete Waterman, Michaela Strachan and .........................?
an onstage dancer called Clive. Cant remember any of the music that they played, did anyone become famous cos of being on there?|||Ahhh, so this is what it was called back in the days, for those who don't know, this is not some LEON movie regarding a hit-man and a female, instead it was about music. You know, you got those images in your head but the title is always the one that you always seem to forget! Now we've nailed it.
This was a late night music/clubbing show that just basically aired all the latest club tunes that were going around those days - a TV version of MTV's Summer Beach house but based inside.
Hosted by Michaela Strachan and Pete Waterman (the hit-man), hence the title - who introduced the latest and greatest acts (at the time)such as Sonia, Sinitta and Yazz onto our screens.
I remember a particular dancer all Kajagoogoo'ed up (remember them?) and strutting his stuff - scenes of Alan Partridge in a thong springs to mind. I was called to pick her up at the security area, having done so my daughter was released in my custody a few days later get a letter pay us or we prosecute|||If the item(s) stolen were returned in a condition in which they could originally be sold then they cannot ask you to pay for anything. However, if the item(s) could not be sold as originally intended then you are responsible for their loss of sale. Depending on the $ requested it may not be worth your time to dispute this matter but rather pay it and be done with it. Although she was released in your care this does dismiss their rights to prosecute, its simply been deferred to a later date and in this case they'd rather get some money than take legal action.|||"Pay us" what? Cost of goods? Cost of securitys time?|||The law is different in the USA, where the "victim" is the business owner from whom the alleged theft took place. In Canada and the UK, the "victim" is Her Majesty the Queen, and the Crown Prosectutor's Office (District Attorney) decides whether to proceed with a charge. The police lay what is called an "information" with Crown, and the decision whether to prosecute is based on liklihood of conviction, the public interest, and all that.
In the US, the direct victim can call it, so the store indeed has the right to send such a letter. I would suggest you pay, in order to avoid a criminal record for your daughter.
I feel badly for you and for her--she did something stupid but she is not a criminal. It is better that she finds out now that actions have consequences she may not like.|||I believe that the store is perfectly within their rights, and you should be thankful that they are taking this approach. They could easily prosecute, or take you to civil court, which would cost much more money than the cost of the loss to the store. The only question I have is how much are they asking you to pay. If they are asking for the cost of whatever was stolen, then you should pay it. Even if it is more, just pay it and get it in writing that all debts have been satisfied and no further action will be taken. Now if they are trying to extort you, and ask for some unreasonable amount, then no, you should talk to an attorney first to see about what you should do.|||No, definitely not. They have every right to prosecute her for shoplifting, and they have every right to demand payment for damages. It's called settling the case out of court. If you think what they are asking for is unfair, go to court and let the judge decide.|||Pay what?
There's a huge difference between paying for what was stolen, and extorsion.
They could press charges on the shoplifting though, but i don't think a civil suit is likely unless she stole a significant amount of products from them.
But there's no law to "protect" her, she committed a crime.|||You are of course willing to pay what you reasonably owe, but if you do so they may still prosecute, so I would seek proper legal advice on the legal aid system. I feel that you actually owe not a thing because you were not involved in the attempted theft. In the case of your daughter if nothing was taken, damaged or it was returned what can she owe unless it was the security man's time. but get some proper advice and keep your daughter away from the shops until she can be trusted not to be light fingered. (UK)
A point to remember that things could have been damaged and that can be a different ball game for your daughter. You need proper advice.

About First World Cup (1910)|||The World Cup: A Captain's Tale (1982)
The true story of the First world footballing competition, won by a bunch of miners from Durham. Won it three times and beat the likes of Juventus to retain the cup in perpetuity
Stars Dennis Waterman, who was at the top of his fame in the early eighties and is a classic. The tragedy is that it is so little known and seemingly never repeated as it was an excellent story, and well told. There are echoes of `Auf Wiedersehen Pet' as we see supposedly simple Northern chaps exposed to a seemingly more sophisticated European society, and ultimately overcoming all to win. Who thinks that people like Pete Waterman and Simon Cowell have ruined the British music industry.?
Britain used to be a source of great and origonal rock talent, I think these two Bozo's ruined it by saturating the market with their cheap crappy music, they are only interested in one thing, making money no matter how bad it sounds.
We hardly ever have hits in the American top 50, where we used to dominate their charts, say what you want about Americans, they won't stand for the **** that these two put out.|||Pete Waterman and Simon Cowell when all is said and done have made a fortune in the music industry and while I do not particularly like the inane drivel that they pump out they should be applauded for having the foresight to target a specific section of the public ( namely teens and under ) in order to achieve what they have done.|||me|||Sorry I think Simon is a great judge of good music. Don't know the other bloke. American idol is one of my favorite shows. If you have to blame it on something try blaming it on the times....|||Are you kidding me? These guys are gods in the music industry. Where would we be without Simon Cowell...the man who has brought us the likes of Westlife, Will Young, Gareth Gates, (American) Kelly Clarkson and many others?|||PWL Ltd also gave us 'Mel %26amp; Kim' and the great voice of Rick Astley, not to mention their own dance floor classic 'Roadblock', so I should be reticent to blame Pete Waterman for the problems with music. Simon Cowell is a complete gimp, with no talent and is responsible for the hype surrounding certain poor quality acts, but as I understand it, British music is currently all about re-hashing the 70s Disco sound, or the already ripped off by Oasis, 80s Indie sound. Bands like the Kaiser Chiefs, Scissor Sisters, White Stripes etc are nothing to do with Cowell, who also conducts his business in the US with Paula 'I used to have a career' Abdul.
Whilst no fan of bands like 'Girls Aloud', 'Mystique' et al, are they really any worse than Britney, Beyonce and the rest?
What happened to Robbie Williams? A 拢80million contract and all he does is Frank Sinatra covers, followed by Jamie Cullum doing the same? Not Waterman or Cowells fault.
Every generation has its dry spells, for example the early/mid80s. Whilst American film soundtracks were packed with OMD, New Order, Psychedelic Furs tracks (Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Heathers), these bands were being outsold in the UK by the 'Birdie Song', 'Renee %26amp; Renata' and other such 'quality' acts. The best music is generally not bought by the non-discerning masses, but by the underground fans, whos time comes later. New Model Army, Mudhoney and the Pixies were popular before Nirvana became chart toppers, Rave music waas in the clubs before the big labels started mass-producing.
Finally, who cares whether Americans are buying our music, or buying homegrown material, bulk sales does not equate talent, just marketting.
Jonathon King (paedophile popster) introduced freebies with records and gimmick selling in the 70s, so perhaps he is to blame just as much as Cowell.

Need an engagement ring! Is there someone/someplace that sells rings like Cathy Waterman's but less expensive?
My boyfriend has been talking engagement for a while. Im super excited and up until now my taste in rings has been on the cheap side (lucky for him) BUT I found Cathy Waterman's website and fell in love with her vintage/medieval style rings. I know we'd prefer to spend that money on something for the both of us like the honey moon and im not the type of girl that throws a fit if i dont get what i want. I was hoping someone could help me find a similar style ring that wouldn't make a dent in his wallet. I like silver or white gold for a base as well as pearls and sapphires. I def believe less is more so my style is very minimalistic.|||You really need to define what "cheap" means to you... I almost choked when I saw the prices of those things... that's my whole wedding budget!
They have some similar to a few of Cathy's styles I saw at JCPenney. They were sort of an old fashioned pave setting that reminded me of the one with the spider pronged setting and they were somewhere in the realm of 600-1000 (Way too rich for my blood).
Good luck! I am actually thinking I am going to go with a personalized birthstone ring so I can choose my stones and go cheap with simulated gems if I need to.|||GO TO JARRED!|||Go to any jewelry shop and get your desired ring.|||I just looked them up and they are amazing.
Every page i picked up the most expensive one.
There are several rings in the $2,000 range and that isn't too much.
Perhaps you want to chip in for the ring ? I usually wouldn't suggest this but these rings are just beautiful.

I see that this Jewelry is making the rounds on red carpets.I think that's where they will have to stay.
You can take a picture to a jeweler that you trust and see how much to make it would be.
I wish you the best.

Which pen is the best? Parker? Waterman? Cartier? Montblanc? or?
Cartier!|||I lose pens, so for me a cheap biro is best.|||All depends what you want to do. Waterman makes very good fountain pens, parker makes very good ball points.|||For drawing - Rotring
For writing - Parker or Waterman
For show - Cartier/Montblanc (people I know find it very hard to write smoothly with these pens. I have a Montblanc and never use it for writing)|||For general use, I prefer the uni-ball Premier 207. Once you use it, know other pen will do.|||I don't use any of these for drawing (I usually use ultra fine technical artist's pens for that). But I personally found Montblanc great for writing: The rollerball was a bit scratchy but the ballpoint was super smooth, particularly in bold. I'd rate it highest, mostly because the refills last a very long time.
The worse I'd have to say about Cartier is that the refills can be hard to get depending on where you are located. And using them, I found them quite ordinary aside from the show factor...
As for Waterman, they were alright but I had to change the refill more often. (I write a lot and I hate to run dry more often than I should!)

Eurovision Song Contest - did it show Pete Waterman and Mike Stock to be 20 years out of date?
Was the song written for the UK by Pete Waterman and Mike Stock (Stock Aitken Waterman) typical of the rubbish they wrote and produced around 20 years ago ? It seemed to have exactly the same beat and feel of stuff they did in the late 80's
If so, why did UK not get a song writer with a contemporary style instead of these old dinosaurs ?
Why not get someone with some song writing credibility like Bono (listen to something like 'sometimes you can't make it on your own') or Duffy (listen to 'Rockferry')|||someone compared it to rick astley
it wasn't that bad, everything else was just much better
lord infamous 鈾?penguins f.c., lol... yes :)|||The UK needs to have proper critically acclaimed writers writing its Eurovision songs, and Waterman and Stock do not fit that description, and wouldn't have done 20 years ago. We also need to stop asking the public to vote for a song for Eurovision. The public should not be trusted to get such important decisions right. You give the public a vote, and people like Boris Johnson end up with important jobs.
If the UK wants to enter soppy ballads (which have a realistic chance of winning Eurovision) then they need writers like Andrew Lloyd Webber. If they want to enter modern pop songs (which also have a realistic chance of winning) they need modern successful writers like Max Martin. It is very rare that anything other than those succeed in Eurovision, acts like Lordi are a one-off.
I agree with the p.Rick Astley comparison.|||It was almost as bad as the one with the 4 air hostesses several years ago

Anyone read Amy Waterman's ebook "save my marriage today"?
First, I'm not in any kind of marriage crisis. Heck, I'm not even married. Never have. And if I were married and had serious issues, I'd probably talk to a human being rather than read a book.
That said, I'm just looking for material to read: a book that seeks to address marital problems. Have heard a lot about Amy Waterman's book, and was wondering what others think of it. All "reviews" I've seen so far are affiliates promoting the book. I'm looking for views from people WHO HAVE ACTUALLY read the book.
Thanks.|||I think a really good book to read is "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus" by John Gray. It's been around a while but it's a classic and it's good just for understanding the opposite sex in general.
Also, Fireproof is a really good movie to watch regarding marriage but it's more from a Christian perspective. As is "Love and War" by John and Stasi Eldrege.|||I havent read the book but i heard that its very educating. Amy has always been a good writer and councellor.

Why are some lines edited out on reruns of of TV shows on certain stations ?
For example, watching an episode of 'The Sweeney' where one of Regans snouts, Proctor (Joe Gladwin) is found dead, Regan originally says to Carter (Dennis Waterman) "He was 5ft4 and an asthmatic". Yet this line was missing in a recent ITV4 screening. Why ?|||While I am not 100% sure since I am unfamiliar with the program or channel you are asking about, it is very common in the US for repeats of older program to be edited. This is because with each passing year, the commercial breaks get longer, and the show content gets shorter. So, a program produced in say the year 2000 needs to have material cut to fit within the new schedule requirements.
As I said, this may not be what you are asking about, but I hope that maybe it helps in some way!

i could be so good for you minder|||the one where he drowns on taggart... i do not think he is on taggart but that sexy chicken is, that podgy bald one who is scottish, he plays the lead in taggart, the lead unlike the time when john higgins and alex higgins pretended to be father and son at me and steve davis's wedding but we kinda figured they were pretending when steve got alex drunk and john had a scottish accent.

Do you agree with what Pete Waterman said about X Factor?
Pete Waterman has said that "cheating" has taken over The X Factor.
The music producer, who was critical of the Pop Idol second series winner Michelle McManus, told NME that music was irrelevant to its successor.
Waterman said: "I was offered it and turned it down. People see these talent shows as 'The way to do it'. But they're not.
"Don't get fooled by The X Factor. The fundamental question is this: What do you know about music? Are you in this for music or fame? And the musical genre - pop, rock, whatever - is irrelevant here."
He added: "I'm still a cheerleader [for reality music shows] but what you've got now is not the show I was on, which was why I walked off series two.
"The cheating has taken over! It's irrelevant that there's even music on these shows."
Waterman recently claimed The X Factor was in fact "the Simon Cowell show".|||Hmmm interesting. It almost sounds as though pete waterman is jealous of cowells success. How long has it been since waterman was in the limelight? How long has it been since his labels produced consecutive hits. I've been pitman floyd and I will ponder it.|||Bullshit...|||Sometimes the XFactor gets it right, and sometimes they don't.
This year even from the bootcamp stages they seemed to let go of some of the better vocally talented singers, and that continued throughout the series where the singers who were most relevant to the music industry had been booted out.
Occasionally the talent shines through: Leona and Alexandra. But sometimes it doesn't: Steve, Shayne and Leon.
The show has become more about the personality of the contestants and not their ability to sing and be able to survive within the industry.
We are now left with:
Stacy: great personality but would get lost in the shuffle quite easily compared to other singers.
Danyl: A person who has an innate quality that makes you hate him.
Joe: A talented singer but offers nothing new or special, he seems like he should be in musicals and not the music industry.
Olly: Probably the best performer of the final 4, but suffers from Robbie Williams syndrome - in that only the UK will 'get' him.|||It does sound as though he is a bit jealous of Simon cowell, But in another way it is kind of the simon cowell show, its all set up Simon decides who goes out and who stays it, He said he didn't like jedward BS he loved them, it was getting more and more viewers to watch even if you hated jedward you still watched the show, Also Simon said to Edward "I think "I do like you guys, its just for the show don't worry even if you leave the show I'll make you famous" It's all a friggen set up man, But In a way it is cheating cause even if you vote, it doesn't count cause Simon makes all the rules.|||yes i agree

Where can I buy a Waterman Serenite D'art Pen, "Eau"?
Waterman created four fine pens reflecting elemental themes such as water, fire, earth, and air. I would love to purchase a water (eau) pen but where ever I go on the internet they don't seem to stock them (I keep finding blue, and grey serenite pens!).
As there are only so many in the world, have they ALL been sold? Are they still being sold on a shopping website? If so, which website? How much do they cost?

Hannah Waterman fitness DVD...?
I bought the Hannah Waterman fitness DVD tonight %26amp; I'm just wondering if any of you have got it %26amp; tried it? How did you find it? What were the results? Thanks everyones, just want to know how everyone else got on with it, to be honest I think it looks very hard but worthwhile! :)|||I googled reviews of the DVD (Ive never used it myself) and they were all really good, and it looks like most people got excellent results from using it. A couple of people said it tends to get a bit boring after a while, but if you do other types of exercise as well to mix things up, then you shouldnt get bored.
Was Jesus a sailor or a waterman?
All of Jesus's non-healing miracles are water-based. Multiplying fish, luring fish, turning water into wine, finding a ring inside a fish, walking on water...
I'd say he was a water deity of some sort. A merman?|||Apparently, Jesus was a carpenter before he became the only son of god. Where can I find a specialty pen store in Tennessee or Texas?
I live in Killeen Texas and am currently visiting family in Clarksville,Tennessee. I am looking for a place that deals with fountain pens besides like a local staples or office depot. What would be even better would be if there is a place where I can ink them and try them out before I buy.
I have 3 fountain pens already a Pelikan M200, Cross Sentiment and a Waterman Harmonie all of which I bought online.|||I think you will have to look in bigger cities than Killeen and Clarksville. I would try luggage stores or gift shops in high-end places like The Mall at Green Hills in Nashville or The Galleria in Dallas. Also stores like Neiman-Marcus and Tiffany's. Fountain pens are not in use by many people, so only specialty stores are likely to carry a large selection of them. I'm not sure they will let you put ink in them to try them out, though they might have a sample pen you can try.

Stock, aitken and waterman: pop saints or pop sinners?
and why? do you have any favourite or least favourite songs that they have produced throughout the years. otherwise known as pete waterman limited, hence the initials, PWL|||They brought us Kylie, so that makes them pop saints to me. Some of their work with Bananarama was also fantastic, but songs like "I'd Rather Jack Than Fleetwood Mac" were pretty naff. But what song writers have a catalogue of all great songs. People say a lot of their stuff sounded the same and it did, but so did Holland Dozier and Holland and they were pop genius too.|||pop tarts|||Saints! Absolute saints! Just because you are not a genius does not mean you cannot be a saint!

Before then you may not have liked it but at least the tunes were different.
I curse them. (And I curse the sheep that bought their records.)|||Most of their stuff was utter carp but some of it was very good. Much like other people in the music business they didn't always get it right.
On the whole I'd say neither saint nor sinner|||Waterman lives in my home town, as does Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud!|||Sonia.Big Fun. BLEURGH.|||Say what you like about them but they sold records. I personally hate everything they ever did but they gave artists like Kylie and Rick Astley a start and maybe without that they wouldn't be where they are today.
I do think Pete Waterman is a toucher of other men's bottoms and have an overhelming desire to punch him when he's on tv.
However, I love Kylie and I've worked with Rick Astley and have much respect for him.
Merry Christmas|||Utter utter bastards. They ruined my adolescence with their cheese and forced me into listening to indie miserabilists like the Smiths and the Cure and wearing a cardigan. It's all their fault. I still dislike cheery, jaunty tunes today, some kind of deep seated trauma caused by seeing Timmy Mallet singing and getting to number 1 in the charts I'm sure.|||Like all genres of music some people like them some don't!!They brought allot of pleasure for some people and pain for others!!So if just 1 person liked the kind of music they produced then they did good! I personally took their kind of music for what is was bubble gum pop some catchy songs but it never inspired me to purchase any of that music but hey lots of people did! What's the best brand in high end writing pens?

I inherited some fountain pens. Where in NY city can I go to get them appraised? How should I sell them?
There are 12 pens in all. 2 are Mont Blanc Meisterstruk pens, and the other 10 are Waterman. They are probably about 30-40 years old. I don't know anything about pens to comment on their condition, the outsides look fine to me. I can take pics and link if necessary. Might they be worth anything?|||The best place to start is ebay:

What is the best fun way to lose weight over summer?!?
I want to lose some weight over summer and but i don't want to go to the gym or anything. So i was wondering if dancing would help and doing Hannah Waterman's dvd i got. I want to know good ways to tone my legs and my arms! I want to be a totally different person by the end of summer!! Please Help!!|||When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).|||See if there is a dog walking place near to where you live and ask if you can volunteer there, not only will you lose weight but you'll have something for your Resume/CV.
Cut out all fast food, processed food and watch your saturated fat intake, eat more vegetables, drink water instead of fizzy drinks.
A dance class is a very good idea, not only will you lose weight but meet new friends.
Trampolining is also fun and lose loads of weight with it. As with skipping and its sort of more fun than the gym.
Ask if you can help cleaning round the house, cleaning can be like a good workout.
Find a friend to lose weight with, it's easier to motivate each other.
Do a combination of things so you dont get bored.|||Good nutrition, play some basketball with your friends in it's ok,make sure you sweat as much as you can.|||Personally, I'm 16, and I need to shed extra weight and get healthier so I prove to myself that I do anything I put myself too do, and shoow people how much i can "evolve" lol. first, it would be best for you to eat as healthy as possible..this will also help you considerably to lose weight gradually and naturally..
eat fresh fruits, vegetables, drink plenty of WATER..avoid all cokes, caffeines, smoking, alchohol etc. as these also add weight as well as they contain chemicals which disturb your natural bio rythmns as well as brain chemistry. try not to eat too much meat, and the meat you should eat should be "lean meat" such as steamed chicken and rice, or steamed fish with rice..and vegetables,, this should be your staple diet rice and vegetables with fruits..AVOID "JUNK FOOD" and "Fast Food" as this type of food is very unhealthy, lacking in vitamins really and has plenty of fattening molecules which make one gain weight and is not good .
if you snack,, try fruits with yogurt or fruit yogurt and nuts.. nuts are very healthy for your body .and contain proteins.
go for walks every evening or morning or whenever you get time each day for 1 hour or 2 hours..make this somewhere you enjoy walking even if you have to drive a bit to there..and make this a daily routine..you will enjoy it once you get into it ..and it makes you feel great after..just walking for 1 hour or 2 hours.
if you do this..every day for one month ..you should lose around 10 pounds (.714 stone) per month until you get to your natural healthy weight.. look up on the internet for an idea of what your weight for your height should be ..and when you get to this weight,,your body will look very nice and you will feel very good.
10 pounds (.714 stone ) each month in 3 months you should lose 30 pounds (2 stones, 2 pounds)..for sure...but no junk food and dont drink alcohol or smoke, dont eat junk..just healthy food with vitamins and walking 1 hour or 2 hours every day..and drink plenty of water..this is guaranteed way to lose weight naturally and for good, if you stick to this, which you should,,as it makes you feel so much more positive due to the vitamins and lack of chemicals making you feel depressed...
btw, forgot to mention,,just in case you dont know how to really make healthy meals..buy a "food steamer" at your local deparment store..they are very cheap and work very well..as well as buy a "rice cooker" which is also very cheap..eating rice is a great way to get your necessary carbs "healthy carbs" to lose weight and has lots of natural energy inside. you can buy asian rice at most large supermarkets or if you have a local oriental market..they sale quality asian rice.. thai or indian rice is good "jasmine rice".. buy corn or canola oil to sprinkle on vegetables or rice before steaming to add to taste as well as you can buy several nice spices like "cumin" or "Curry powders", etc.just sprinkle on the vegetables before steaming to give nice taste.
drink "Green Tea" as this is very healthy and helps burn extra fat faster...you can buy quality green tea at most oriental shops or large supermarkets as well

if you do this..every day for one month ..you should lose around 10 pounds (.714 stone) per month until you get to your natural healthy weight.. look up on the internet for an idea of what your weight for your height should be ..and when you get to this weight,,your body will look very nice and you will feel very good.
